CVS and Target Deals Week of 7/14

Hello everyone! I have been on vacation and 'off' for a couple weeks but really excited to get back in to this now! I am posting some possible deals for this week that you can take advantage of--I have not yet done my weekly couponing (I did lots over the past couple weeks but since most of those prices are no longer valid I won't post for now) but I am just sharing what I think are good prices and good deals around town. I will list below CVS and Target (this is smaller!)-- I will add Food Lion on Tues/Weds because they're sale does not start until Wednesday but the BIG DEAL sale they run every 3-4 months is coming and I am excited to know what will show up on that (I do not yet know...) but for now, CVS (the most comprehensive) and Target. The prices I post will be "AS LOW AS" prices that you will get using coupons that I list. However, without those coupons, your price would be higher but many of these would still be very good!

CVS:
The machine is printing a $3/$15 purchase coupon for everyone!! So be sure and print first before shopping :)
ExtraBucks Deals:

CHARMIN/BOUNTY--16 packs and 12 count packs respectively--BUY ANY 2 at $20 total, get $5 EB
-----use two $0.25/1 from P&G 7/7, pay $20.56 with tax, get $5 EB (makes these $7.78 each)
-----if you pair with the $3/$15 purchase from the CVS machine, you would pay $17.56 and they would be $6.28 each (remember, I do calculate your FINAL cost using the EB you would receive)

REVLON NAIL POLISH--On sale for $4.99 each, buy 1 receive $3 EB
-----use a $1/1 Revlon nail from the 6/23 SmartSource, pay $4.25 and get $3 EB back (makes it $1.25!)
-----if you use the $3.$15 here, you could buy 3 nail polishes for $9.76 (after $3 in man. q's and $3 CVS q)
and you will receive $9 ExtraBucks--makes these $0.25 each :) *There is a limit of 6 on this deal, so--if you need more than one or two cheap nail polishes--you could get 6 and be well on your way to that $50 you need for the $5 Beauty Bucks--remember, you only need to meet that $50 BEFORE coupons :)

AIRWICK PRODUCTS--spend $20 on ANY, get $10 ExtraBucks
---there are a couple coupons that expire TODAY for this, but I am sure there are internet printables (I didn't look, sorry!) but even so, this would be a good price for buying some if you need/want them.

COKE 12 packs--buy 3 at 3/$10, get $1 ExtraBuck (makes them $3 each so not great but I'll include it!)

Non-ExtraBucks Deals:

MandMs single serve and sharing size--on sale all buy 2, get 1 FREE
-----these are $1 each already when you buy 2+ but pair with a nice Buy One candies, get FREE choc. bar coupons for TODAY's Red Plum and essentially, you will buy 1, but get 2 free [1 free from store, and 1 free from manufacturer :) ] final cost: $0.33 each or $1 for 3 (this FREE coupon does not specify a max value, so I assume it will go through as $1--or whatever the price rings up as)

Cesar Dog food single servings--$0.69
-----use the other nice BOGO FREE (up to $1.19) and you will pay $0.59 for 2 of them! ($0.30 each)
-----CVS does the "max value" bonus for these "up to" coupons (or at least, in my experience they do! so the coupon should have no problem taking of the full amount of $1.19 since they do get reimbursed by the company for the full value)

Herbal Essences--2 shampoos, conditioners or stylers for $6
----yes, it was 2/$5 last week and FREE after coupons but if you still have some of those awesome $5/2 Clairol products coupons from the 7/7 P&G then this is still a good deal to be $0.50 per bottle.
----[side note] I saw some of these products on clearance at 2 different Kroger's yesterday and today for between $2 and $2.20 each so those coupons would work there, too!

Mitchum Deodorant--on sale 2 for $5--pair with a $1/1 q from the SmartSource today to make these $1.50 each (they would be FREE at Walgreen's but if you don't want to go there...$1.50 is not bad, especially for beginners and with that $3 off your purchase coupon....)

The weekly coupon machine cheapie item is Theater Boxed candy--on sale for $1/box
----the machine is printing a $0.25/1 coupon so makes a box only $0.75, but there is only one coupon/card--sure beats theater prices, right! And these are anywhere from $0.88-$0.97 at Walmart...

A couple deal scenarios (these are just a few I put together, of course they are interchangeable!)
Scenario 1 (ExtraBucks deal):

Transaction #1:
Buy 3 Revlon nail using 3 manufacturer coupons and the $3/$15 CVS q
Pay: $9.76
Receive: $9 EBs

Transaction #2:
Buy 2 Charmin or Bounty items using 2 manufacturer coupons for $0.25 AND the $9 EBs from trans. #1
Pay: $11.56
Receive: $5 EBs

Total: $21.32 for over $50 worth of items AND have $5 ExtraBucks left

Scenario 2 (ExtraBucks deal):
Transaction #1:
Buy $20 worth of Airwick (prices on these things vary from store to store AND it depends on which items you buy--I always aim for $20 or right at lol)
Pay: $21.06 (including tax but EST. the $20 total)
Receive: $10 ExtraBucks

Transaction #2:
Use the $10 ExtraBucks from #1 and buy 3 Revlon nail polishes AND 3 MandMs candies (one MUST be the choc. bar) AND use the $3/$15 coupon here
Pay: $0.81 (all tax only)
Receive: $9 ExtraBucks

Total: ~$22 for $41.50 worth AND have $9 ExtraBucks left

Scenario 3 (non-EB deal):
Buy 2 Herbal Essences, 2 Mitchum deodorants, 3 MandMs (1 bar!), 2 Cesar dog food, and 1 Theater boxed candy
Use: $5/2 Clairol products coupon, 2 $1/1 Mitchum coupons, 1 BOGO MMs coupon, 1 BOGO Cesar Coupon, and the CVS candy coupon AND the $3/$15 CVS coupon
Pay: $3.67 for ~$22 worth of stuff

Of course, if you wanted to use any remaining ExtraBucks if you did either Deal #1 or #2 to pay for the non-EB items you could---the only thing is that the nice $3/$15 CVS coupon is ONE PER CARD so can only be used once. As you all may know, I have so much shampoo, deodorant, household smell-goods, that I won't be taking advantage of those today but I wanted to share them because they are good deals---though I may do the toilet paper, can't ever have too much of that haha! And if I do anything else, I will get 3 nail polishes as outlined in scenario #1 transaction #1 and a couple Cesar's and the MandMs and I will use $10 ExtraBucks and roll them into $9 and also, will hit my next Beauty Bucks!

Now, on to Target and Kroger (these are much shorter btw)

Target:
Last night, I had $20 in Target gift cards from previous couponing trips that we finally cashed in and we bought an umbrella for our patio set--it was originally $70, but was clearanced down to $21 so that's 70% off and I used the gift cards so I only paid $2.11 after the gift cards. I thought this was a good use of some rewards I had earned. Maybe I'll add a pic later.

There's honestly not a lot to rush out and about for this week, but there are a couple good gift card promotions on every day items.

Tampax/Always 32 count Radiant (and select others are included):
Buy 3, get a FREE Venus Embrace razor
The 32 count Radiants are on sale (though this could be the reg. price?) for $7 per box (ugh) but with coupons, much better:
Use 3 $2/1 Always Radiant or Tampax Radiant from the 7/7 P&G to make them $5 each AND use that awesome $5/any 1 Venus razor---you may not still have those but they're good til 7/31 so if you do (I have two left I'm still trying to use haha)
You will pay a total of $11.11 ($10 plus tax) for all 4 items, or $2.77 each and that is a pretty good price for an even purchase (no rewards to worry about or points, etc)

GE REVEAL (4 pack) are $9, but buy 2 and get a $5 gift card
You would pay $13.95 for two, after gift card
*I know this seems like a 'lot' for a 'deal' but this is something we tend to forget about needing until we do and then we rush out and buy the cheapest (i.e. shortest lasting and worst!) light bulbs haha. Again, this is just something I thought of sharing :)

SANDISK FLASH DRIVE 8G: BOGO for $1
They are $10, and buy 1 at $10, get #2 for $1 so $11.58 for two ($5.79 each)
*That is a pretty good price for a computer item--I know they can get cheaper at the office stores but who knows when and going through the office store hoops is sometimes not worth it, in my opinion.

Don't forget about Target's mobile coupons: currently, there are a few floating around for summery stuff but a good one now is $1 off any fresh fruit purchase $1 or higher. Grapes are on sale for $2/lb so you could get a lb for $1, but that is also roughly the price as Kroger---this coupon expires on 7/31 so there may be advantage to holding onto it for a little while :)

Like I mentioned before, I will add some possible deals for Food Lion Tuesday or Wednesday (depending on how early I can see the ad!) and hopefully there will be some good ones. That is all for now :) Let me know on here on on Facebook if you have any questions or anything! :)

Bought 2 Cases of Water and Got Everything Else for FREE!

I really didn't know what to title this because my brags this week cover many categories (cosmetics, dog stuff, health stuff, and laundry). Basically, so far this week (Monday and Tuesday)--I have spent a total of $9.95 (if I bought the two cases of water for full price- I have spent about the same amount for all of my items below). I have been to Target and CVS, and here is what I bought:

Target:
I went in once by myself, and then again with Andrew once he got home. This deal for the Tide Boost can be duplicated IF you have the Target store coupons AND the P&G manufacturer Tide coupons. If you only have the P&G coupons, this is still a great deal @ $0.99 per pack! I found this idea on Kraxy Coupon Lady, but it seems that many Targets were out of this specific size (Roanoke still had some)--but you could always get a rain check as long as you can use the coupons by then! Anyway, my goal for this week was to buy bottled water because we were nearly out and I am pleased to have found it on a good deal at both CVS and Target, but for the price of the bottled water--I got all the other stuff, too!

Transaction #1:
3 Tide Boost Packs (18 count)--reg price @ $6.99, price cut @ $2.99 per pack (until June 29)
2 Crystal Light Liquid Drops--reg. price @ $3.49 each (on a promotion, see below)
1 Deer Park case of 24 bottle--reg. price @ $3.79 each (on the Target promotion--FREE with purchase of  2 Crystal Light or MIO liquid drops)

Coupons used:
3 $2/1 Tide Boost packs (15-37 count)-from P&G Brandsaver 6/2--made each pack $0.99
2 $1/1 Crystal Light liquid--made these $2.49 each (excited to try them--didn't plan on getting them but needed the water!)
FREE water (took of the $3.79) with purchase of the 2 Crystal Light drops
2 $1/1 Target coupons for ANY Tide Boost (liquid or packs)--these were peelies on the product!
1 $1/1 Target mobile coupon on ANY Tide product (text PICNIC to 827438)--these expire 6/14 and can only be used ONCE (with the Target coupons AND manufacturer coupons--all of my Tide was FREE!)
1 Target coupon for using my own bag (any time you bring in a reusable bag--they take another 5 cents off)

Total Paid: $5.37                                  Total Saved: $27.67 (84% off)

Target Transaction #2:
3 Tide Boost packs (18 count)--reg. price @ $6.99, price cut @ $2.99 per pack (until June 29)

Coupons used:
3 $2/1 Tide Boost Packs (15-37 count)- from P&G Brandsaver 6/2--made these $0.99 per pack
1 $1/1 Target mobile coupon (on Andrew's phone!--text PICNIC to 827438)
1 $1/2 Tide or Downy Items Target Coupon

This time, I did not have enough of the $1 off 1 Tide Target coupons to make them all completely free, but I had a coupon to make one free, and two cost $0.50 a pack..not bad at all, though!

Total Paid: $1.32                                 Total Saved: $20.69 (94% off)

Total at Target on Monday: $6.69 for $55.05 worth of laundry items and water/water stuff.

It is worth noting that Target adjusts the tax down based on Target coupons--however much $ in Target coupon you tender, that much off of the taxable total is brought down as well. This is awesome in my book--as most places tax on FULL amount pre-coupon no matter if they're store coupons or manufacturer coupons. So, this is like BONUS savings (although it's not much...it is something)!

CVS:
I had some really good CVS coupons this week and wanted to do a BIG trip. My sister asked for razors, and although they aren't on any ExtraBucks deal, they were a money maker so I was happy to get them :) Many of these ideas could be duplicated--but I did have one email coupon that was not available to the masses (they email various coupons to various people--I got a 25% entire purchase, while others got a $6 off of $30, or something)--I also had two $10 off of $50 purchase coupons. Let me break down how I got from a total of $196.7 (this may be off a few cents--it was between $196-200!) to $3.26 (woohoo!)

Transaction #1 (Monday)
I only went in to print off coupons for my card and Andrew's card, and when I printed--he received a coupon I knew would give overage. I decided to buy a dog toy with the overage, and some candy. When I went to check out, the dog toy rang up another 50% off what I expected, so I decided to buy all 4 they had and forget the candy. Can't you see Heidi saying "can I play with them now, mom?"--She was so patient while I took my photo :) I only gave her one toy for now, so I can add the others to my stock pile. Here is Monday's break down (this was Andrew's card):

1 Revlon Nail polish--on clearance @ $1.49--reg. price @ $5.99
4 small dog toys--on clearance @ $0.49 each (the tag said $0.99...surprise!) reg. price @ $1.99 each

Coupons used:
1 CVS coupon for $3 off any Revlon cosmetic item (gave me an overage of $1.51)

Total Paid: $0.62                                    Total Saved: $14.02 (96% off)

Transaction #1 (Tuesday)
Andrew received another overage giving coupon yesterday, so I used the overage to buy the bottled water which is on a great sale @ $2.88 per pack!

1 pack of Nestle water, 24 count--on sale @ $2.88/pack, reg. price @ $4.69
2 Maybelline Nail polishes--on clearance @ $2.09 each, reg. price @ $4.19 each
1 CVS Vitamin C, 100 count--on clearance @ $1.24, reg. price @ $4.99

Coupons used:
1 CVS coupon for $3 off any vitamin purchase (overage of $1.76)
2 CVS coupons for $2 off any Maybelline items (made those $0.09 each)

Total Paid: $1.64                                    Total Saved: $17.19 (91% off)

Transaction #2 (Tuesday)
These next two transactions were on my card. I did two separate transactions because in the first, the items were full price (or most of them) and I had the email-to-card 25% coupon. This coupon, since it's loaded on the card already, will automatically work on the next eligible transaction and I did not want to risk anything. This was my BIG trip (I say BIG when my original total is over $100..haha) so it has nothing to do with the fact that my items are all small. The 25% off email coupon works on ANY full-priced items, including those that give ExtraBucks, BUT will not work on anything that says "buy more and save" or "buy one, get one % off, etc" or clearance because those are considered 'sales'. The 20% flyer coupon came with this past Sunday's paper. I have 4 more to use throughout the week if we do happen to go again (they are one-time use only and also exclude sale items). I had planned for these two coupons to combine and give me *about* 40% off my full-priced items. These % off coupons are tricky because they "adjust" themselves based on the other CVS coupons you use...so, my $10 off of $50 coupons, and my other $ off coupons from CVS lowered my % off total quite a bit. I still saved A TON and my % off coupons took off enough for me to be happy about using them haha.

Here is what I bought this time:
1 Rimmel Mascara--on clearance @ $2.19, reg. price @ $8.79
1 Revlon Nail polish--on clearance @ $2.07, reg. price @ $8.29 (what?!)
1 Secret Clinical deodorant--reg. price @ $8.99 each (buy 1, get $2 EB)
2 Curel hand/body lotion travel size--reg. price @ $0.99 each (buy 2, get $1 EB)
1 Revlon glitter nail file--reg. price @ $2.27 each (spend $10, get $4 EB)
1 Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara--reg. price @ $7.99 (same deal *)
3 CVS sunscreen 2 oz. each--reg. price @ $2.37 each (spend $10 on CVS items, get $3 EB)
1 CVS Medicated facial scrub--reg. price @ $3.29 each (same deal *)
1 Glide Floss--reg. price @ $4.49 (spend $10, get $5 EB OR spend $20, get $10 EB)
3 Oral B Pro-Health toothbrushes--reg. price @ $5.99 each (same deal *)
2 Biore Medicated scrub @ $8.29 each (buy 2 Biore, John Frieda, or Curel full-size get $5 EB)
1 Gillette Men's ProGlide Razor--reg. price @ $9.99 each (buy 1, get $4 EB)
2 Venus Simply Women's disposables--reg. price @ $9.29 each
1 Trim Cuticle Remover--reg. price @ $3.59 each
1 ZZZQuil sleep aid 48 count--reg. price @ $14.99 (!)

Coupons used:
2 CVS coupons for $10 off a $50 purchase (I met the requirement because I was well over $100...)
1 CVS emailed coupon for 25% off (kept going down with my coupons, eventually took off $19.19)
1 CVS flyer coupon for 20% off (same* took off $7.44)
1 CVS coupon for $4 off any $12 cosmetics
1 CVS coupon for $4 off any $10 CVS brand skin/facial care
1 CVS coupon for $2 off any pain relief or sleep aid purchase $7.99 or more
1 CVS coupon for $3 off ZZZquil 24 ounce or 48 count
1 CVS coupon for $3 off any Revlon cosmetics item
1 CVS coupon for $2 off any 2 Crest or Oral-B items (toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash)
1 Manufacturer coupon for $3 off any Secret Clinical Strength
1 Manufacturer coupon for $1 off any Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara
1 Manufacturer coupon for $0.50 off any Glide floss
3 Manufacturer coupons for $1 off any Crest Pro-Health (and others) toothbrush
2 Manufacturer coupons for $2 off any 1 Biore scrub or face wash (peelies!!!)
1 Manufacturer coupon for $3 off any Gillette ProGlide razor
1 Manufacturer coupon for BOGO Free Venus Disposable razor (took off the max of $11.99!)
1 Manufacturer coupon for $2 off any Trim product (peelie!!!)
1 Manufacturer coupon for $1 off any ZZZquil product
$30 in ExtraBucks (took off nearly all of my tax and I made them back so no big deal)

Total Paid: $0.44!!!! (yes!)                     Total Saved: $143.5 (since all but 44 cents in tax came off,
                                                                  I'd say I had over 100% savings!

*My "savings" may be off a few cents--my receipt says "you saved $136.94, but that's not counting my clearance items). I did "spend" 30 ExtraBucks, but received 29..so I only "lost" $1 in EBs...I can't complain about it, though!

Transaction #3 (Tuesday)
I did this separately just because these were on sale and I could not use either % off coupon on them anyway. I did the same "trading" of the EBs as I did in the previous transaction, where I spent (roughly) the same amount to get the same amount back. I only paid tax.

4 Colgate Optic White 360 Toothbrushes @ $2.99 each (sale price, from $5.49 reg. price) each

Coupons used:
1 CVS coupon for $4 off 3 Colgate Optic White items
4 Manufacturer coupons for $1/1 Colgate 360 toothbrush (any 360 variety)
$4 in ExtraBucks (my subtotal was $3.96, so these took off 4 cents of my tax)

Total Paid: $0.56                                   Total Saved: $22.49 (97.5% off)

I received $4 in new EBs for this, so paying tax was my only OOP (I am giving these to someone else!)

My CVS totals from Mon-Tuesday are: $3.26 oop for $196-200 worth of items. Not like I would pay that much, though haha. I still have $55 EBs for my next trips :)

I feel pretty good about my less than $10 since I needed the bottled water and I got some stuff for a few people who wanted things if the price was right :) and it was!

I have another post coming later today with recipes--I am updating my blog somewhat by creating pages for each of my topics (couponing, recipes, etc) so be sure to look around later!

Rolling ExtraBucks on a Rainy Day = $7.71!

I know it's been a few days since I last wrote. Truthfully, I started two different blog posts and never finished them because I got distracted or thought it was not interesting enough. I may finish those later today but for now, I'll just share today's deals :) Andrew and I just got home from CVS and we did very well I would say. I wanted to share some of these deals because they are items everyone needs (toilet paper!) and the coupons from today's paper are awesome! Here goes:

Transaction #1:
4 Febreze Air Effects Sprays (3.99 each reg. price)
2 Colgate Optic White Mouthwash 16oz (6.29 each reg. price)
4 Gillette Men's Disposable Razors 4pack (8.29 reg. price each)
1 Physician's Formula Eyeshadow (11.79 reg. price)

Total before card and coupons: $73.49 (without tax) (all full price--so card did not take anything off)--I did the above all together because I had a 20% off any regular priced purchase coupon--it was mailed to me a few weeks ago and was only good June 1 or 2 (either day I could choose, but only good one time). CVS is great about mailing things like coupons if you have a CVS card and simply give them your address. They also email really nice coupons (like 20-30% coupons) so if you are not registered with CVS.com it's easy to do :)

Coupons used:
1 CVS coupon for $10 off any $50 purchase-I get one of these on every receipt lately--usually, my total is well over $50 before coupons, so this is a coupon that the receipt prints off based on YOUR specific habits--I know people who get a $4 off $20 all of the time too, so the more you shop there, the better they treat you :)
1 CVS coupon for 20% entire purchase
1 CVS coupon (from coupon machine) for $4 off any $12 cosmetic purchase (remember, CVS only requires 98% of that total be met--11.79 eyeshadow rounds up to 98% of $12 :) so the coupon was fine)
4 Febreze Air Effects coupons for $1.50 off each (from P&G brandsaver 5/12)
2 Colgate coupons for $2 off any Colgate mouthwash 8oz and over (from TODAY'S paper)
2 Gillette BOGO FREE (up to 11.49) Men's disposables (from TODAY'S paper)--CVS, or at least the ones I've ever shopped at, takes the max value off--so while yes, these razors were only 8.29 per pack, the coupon took off 11.49, woohoo!

Total after coupons and card (for the 20% off to work, I needed to scan my card anyway):
$15.81 + $2.14 tax, so $17.95
I used $11.75 in ExtraBucks from weeks before, so we paid $6.20 in cash ($4.06 subtotal and $2.14 in tax)

I then received the following ExtraBucks: $5 for buying $15 or more in Febreze products, $5 for buying $10 or more in Colgate Optic White, $10 for buying $30 or more on Gillette items, and $7 for buying any Physician's Formula item over $7.49. So, I spent $11.75 in prior EBs, and gained $27 new EBs :) This is where you will see someone say "moneymaker" because I turned $17.95 total into $27 (a gain of $9.05 in CVS money). Granted, I traded $6.20 in cash for CVS money, but I am pretty happy to have that to use on whatever my next deals will be :)

Transaction #2: (did not use a 20% because all items, but 3, were on sale)
2 packs of Charmin 16 double rolls (on sale at $9.99 each-reg. $15.99 each)
1 Dawn 8oz dish detergent (on sale at $0.99, didn't need this really but needed I'll explain why I bought it--reg. $1.67 each)
1 Oral B power toothbrush (on sale at $5.99--reg. $9.99 each)
1 Oral B power replacement brush heads (on sale at $5.99 each--reg. $8.49 each)
1 Tena pads (on sale at $3.79-I don't use these but I know someone who does and it was a moneymaker!--these were reg. $7.59 each, wow)
2 Colgate 16oz Mouthwash (on sale at $4.99 each--reg. $5.99 each)
2 travel size Curel lotion (reg. price of $0.99 each)
1 CVS brand travel (8 count) pain relief PM (on clearance for $1.49--this was $1.99 pre-clearance)

Total with card but before coupons: $50.19 (without tax) (worth $75.57--my card saved me $25.38 alone!)

Coupons used:
1 CVS $10 off $50 purchase
1 CVS coupon for $3 off any toothbrush, mouthwash, or toothpaste $15 or more (from machine)
2 Charmin coupons for $0.25 (Charmin rarely has a 'good' coupon...but from TODAY'S paper)
1 Dawn coupon for $0.50 off any Hand Renewal Dawn (from an old pack of Charmin--if you have never checked packages for coupons--you should! I needed to spend $20 on P&G items (Charmin and Dawn here) in order to get the ExtraBucks and since I know CERTAIN PROMOTIONS REQUIRE THE MINIMUM TO BE MET...like the P&G ones...I needed AT LEAST $20, and the 2 Charmins did not give me that--in this case, the CVS 98% rule DOES NOT APPLY! bummer, I know, but it's dish soap and that's useful, right?
1 Tena coupons for $1 off any Tena product (I found a tearpad in front of these at CVS, but coupons.com has the $1 off coupons if you want to print one!)
2 Colgate $2 off any Colgate mouthwash (again, from TODAY'S paper--I have 6 papers lol)
2 Oral B power brush or brush heads coupon for $3 off any one (from TODAY'S paper)

Total after card and coupons: $25.19 (tax made it $26.51)
I used $10 prior ExtraBucks (I had $30 in Beauty Bucks I had accumulated lol) and then used $15 ExtraBucks from transaction #1 to bring my subtotal down to $0.19, with $1.32 in tax we paid $1.51 in cash.

We earned the following ExtraBucks: $5 for spending $20 on P&G items, $2 for buying an Oral B power brush (did this twice, so $4 EBs), $3 for the Tena pads, $2 for buying the Colgate mouthwash (did this twice, so $4 EBs), and $1 for buying two Curel or Jergens travel size for a TOTAL OF: $17 new Extra Bucks.

I spent $7.71 total in cash today, and used $36.75 in ExtraBucks for $149 worth of household and health items. I still have another $10 Beauty Bucks and a new (from today) $29 in Extra Bucks for a total of $39 in EBs for next time :)

I thought I would try writing a scenario for anyone who wants to try do coupons at CVS but not sure how to "roll":

So, my suggested "deals" for some of you may be:

Transaction #1: Buy 4 Gillette Disposables (at $8.29 each)--use 2 coupons for BOGO FREE Gillette Disposables (takes of 11.49 each)
Spend $11.83 (including tax and coupons), receive $10 Extra Bucks for next time

Transaction #2: Buy 2 big packs of Charmin  (at $9.99 each) and 1 Dawn dish soap (or a box of Puffs at $0.99 each)

Use the $10 Extra Bucks from Transaction #1 and pay $12.01 total (after Extra Bucks and including tax) (exclusive of coupons-those would take off another approx. $0.75 to $1)
Receive $5 Extra Bucks for next time

Transaction #3: Buy 2 Oral B power brushes (at $5.99 each)--use 2 coupons for $3 off any Oral B power brush
Use the $5 Extra Bucks from transaction #2, spend $1.57 (after coupons and EBs) and receive $4 Extra Bucks for next time

Your costs would be: $25.41 out of pocket, with $4 Extra Bucks remaining (or, a net of $21.41 for $86.79 worth of items--or, a 71% savings)

-Obviously, these are just suggestions--but hopefully they help you understand how "rolling" ExtraBucks can save out-of-pocket money and help you get useful items you or your family may need. You could do any one of the above and just keep whatever Extra Bucks you receive and cash them in later :)

CVS 4/15 What Actually Happened

Here is my actual transaction at CVS tonight. For the most part, there were no snags, and I am very pleased. I did not get the Crest Rinse because like a rookie, I accidentally left one of my Crest coupons at home (I had taken it out in preparation and left it there, doh!)--anyway, I will be going back to get the Crest rinse (for free!) probably tomorrow. Other than that, here's how it went:

2 (1 on each card) Colgate MaxFresh toothpaste (not in my original post, but I forgot it was the freebie deal this week--the Magic CVS coupon machine printed a coupon for $2 off any one, which was $3, I paired it with a manufacturer Q of $1 off any one to make it free). We got two because Andrew also has a CVS card, and the coupon printed for every cardholder :) Certainly, I had two of the Colgate manufacturer Qs. Andrew's card also printed a $1 off any $3 toothpaste/mouthwash/toothbrush or deodorant purchase. Since his Colgate was originally $3, he was able to use the Q. Yes, I know he was already getting the Colgate free, but since CVS coupons stack (or, can be paired for greater savings!), we threw in a travel bottle of Garnier conditioner for .99. His coupon for $1 off any $3 purchase made the conditioner free. He paid .19 total in tax on the conditioner and toothpaste.

For everything below, we did one transaction on my CVS card. I used the 20% coupon from the front of this week's CVS ad (my final price gives the 20% off)

4 Simply Venus 4pack disposable razors @ 8.49 each. Remember the spend 30, get $10 deal? Well, 8.49x4= 33.96. We then got this down to: 27.17, then used two BOGO coupons which DID take off 11.99 each :) so, 27.17-11.99-11.99= 3.19 total for all four (pre-tax) We received 10 Extra Bucks for this.

2 Crest 2.7oz toothpastes, each 2.67. For buying each one, we received a total of 6 extra bucks (3 Bucks for each one) and we also got 20% off each, so we paid 2.14 each (I did not have a manufacturer Q for these, as all of the Crest Qs only work on anything over 4oz. Spending a total of 4.28 to get $6 back was worth it to me, even without the coupon)

2 Pantene Shampoo/Conditioner (These were 2 for $6, and I used a coupon for BOGO, which took off 6.99--so yes, this made both free, and gave me .99 overage!)

1 Revlon eyeshadow (was 5.79, I used a manufacturer Q for $1 off, and a CVS coupon machine coupon for $3 off any Revlon item)

I combined the Revlon with 2 Almay makeup removers (these were 6.49 each--I know, I thought they were 4.99 each regularly in my earlier post, but I still got a killer deal so got them anyway) Also, the Almay was BOGO 50% off, so one was 6.49 and the other was 3.25. I used two $4 off coupons and one CVS coupon for $3 off $15 in cosmetics (remember the Revlon? It put me over $15). In total, I paid .53 for both makeup removers and one eyeshadow.

The value of everything I bought was: $75.43 (this was pre-card, pre-coupon, pre-tax). My 20% coupon took off 7.94, and my CVS and manufacturer coupons took off 49.97. My subtotal was 6.31, and I paid 2.81 in tax (yeah...) so I paid $9.12 and received $16 back in Extra Bucks!!

Like I said, I will be returning for the Crest rinse deal which should cost less than $4.50 oop, and give me $5 back in Bucks. I will be using Bucks I received above to purchase the Crest.

Plans for the week-- CVS 4/14-4/20

I have not done these yet, but plan to do so over the week. I thought I would share the deals I plan on doing so I can show how it would be done beforehand. Since there are so many other sites/blogs to give you infinite numbers of possible deals, I only want to post the ones I want to get :)

CVS:

Almay Cosmetics are currently on sale--buy one, get one 50% off. The make-up removers are 4.99/pack and I plan to buy 4. I will do this the following way:

Buy two at 4.99 each (9.98 total) and two at 2.49 each (or 4.99 total). The total so far on cosmetics is 14.97. I have a CVS coupon for $3 off a $15 cosmetic purchase. I will add an item for less than a dollar (likely a Wet-n-Wild eyeliner for .50) to get over the $15 total.

My total would be about $15.50, and I would use the following coupons:

1 CVS Q for $3 off (from the magic coupon machine in CVS)
2 Almay Qs for $4 off any one item (from yesterday's paper, it expires 4/28)
1 Almay Q for $5 off of 2 items (from coupons.com)

This will give me $16 off..and I had a $15.50 total. So, if they adjust it down--I will pay taxes only. IF they do not adjust it down (and CVS rarely does!) I will get $16 off, so I might throw in a candy bar for free, but then still pay tax. In all, 4 free makeup removers and something else :)

I also plan to take advantage of a few Extra Bucks deals on items I want.

Currently, buying $10 of Crest Pro Health rinse gives me $5 Extra Bucks back. It is regular price this week, but the paper ad had a 20% off all regular priced items coupon. I will use this when buying the rinse. The rinse is 5.39 regularly (for 500ml), so if I buy 2, it will put me over $10. Once I use the 20% coupon, my total will be 8.63. I will then use two $1.50 off a Crest rinse coupons (from the P&G Saver 3/31) and will pay out-of-pocket $5.63 (and taxes) and get $5 back.

Also, there's a deal on Gillete shaving items where if you spend $30, you get $10 back. You're thinking $30??? Sounds like a lot, and it is. I will definitely NOT be spending that much. Remember I have a 20% coupon? I will of course be using that, and a combination of other coupons to get the total down.

I will spend $30 pre-tax on the following items:

4 Simply Venus Disposable Razors (at $7.89 each, regular price) which will total $31.56 (over $30, right!)

I will use the following coupons:

(2) Buy one, get one free Venus Disposable Razor (up to 11.99 value)--side note, most of the time CVS automatically takes off the "up to" price, so if this goes well, I will actually get 11.99 off two times :)

Since the items are full, regular price, I will also use the 20% coupon

My pre-tax total was $31.56, and my after coupon total will be anywhere from $9.47+tax (if the coupon ONLY takes off 7.89 for each..the actual price) or $1.27!!(and what I'm hoping will actually happen!)
--Either way, I will get $10 in Extra Bucks so, essentially, I will make money on the transaction. In scenario A, I will only get back what I paid, but scenario B would be amazing and give me over $8 in FREE money.

Since I can only use one 20% coupon with my CVS card, I will actually be combining the above transactions so paying either ~$15.50 total, getting $15 back or (if it goes well!) will pay ~$6.50 and get $15 back! I also currently have $1 in Extra Bucks so I will use that when I check-out.

If I want to spend some of my new extra bucks, I may buy 2 tubes of Crest 2.7oz toothpaste at $2.67 each and receive $6 in extra bucks from that purchase. I am unsure if that is regular price, or sale price, but if it's regular price, I will just add those to my first (in that case, only) transaction and spend either $21, or $11 and get $21 in Bucks back.

Hopefully, this will all go down like I plan. Sometimes you have to go to two different CVS stores because they are out of something or whatever, but if you want the item at an awesome price, it's worth it. The Almay  for example is not going to give me any Bucks back, but will be FREE with all of my coupons, so why not? And, I use make-up remover....and the razors I can donate, and like another one of my posts suggests, stockpiling when you get items free is always a good idea (which is why I like to get something like makeup and Crest mouthwash free whenever I can).

Any questions? What do you plan on doing this week?

CVS 3/31 and the Beauty of Stockpiling

So, recently I uploaded a photo to my facebook with a deal Andrew and I got at CVS on Easter. This sale is still running until 4/6 and the coupons I used are (mostly) still available. If you do not have a CVS card, I would highly recommend you get one. I just got over $4 in Extra Bucks just for shopping (it's 2% back on everything, except government funded things like Medicaid, Medicare, etc--and no, I did not ACTUALLY spend over $200 to earn $4.50--it takes your pre-coupon totals--score! Also, CVS had a coupon printer machine in the front of the store where they print you CVS coupons--these coupons combine with manufacturer coupons (sweet!) so definitely get a card or remember to use the one you already have!)

Since I linked the photo, I did not want to re-post it but here is the breakdown of our two transactions (I will also explain why many times you need to do multiple transactions in a store)--

Transaction One:

-Clear brand Shampoo-FREE (value 6.99 each-we got 2) (FREE this week because CVS coupon machine prints out a "4.99" value coupon off of any Clear brand shampoo--we got two because Andrew has a separate card--yes, you can sign up for multiple cards in your household, but this is the one he had from home)--Andrew just rang up his at a different register really fast, only one was on my card

-Almay Mascara and Almay eyeliner- 5.98 combined for 2 (on sale for 5.99 each, used a $5 off any 2-print this coupon from Coupons.com)  Any time you print from this site, there is a max of two prints allowed on any computer. I have a desktop and a laptop so I can usually print 4 altogether. Occasionally, some coupons have a max of one allowed per computer-bummer.)
-This week, CVS offers a special when you buy 2 Almay products, you get $3 Extra Bucks back for a future purchase)--so, our total was 5.98 with $3 back, on makeup I actually use and love (limit 1 reward per card)

-Oral B complete action power toothbrush- on sale for 5.99 each (value 6.99 for brush and 9.99 for refill) and when you buy one Oral B power item you get $2 back in Extra Bucks, we bought two items, so $4 back (limit 2 rewards, so we hit the max on my card)- We used two $3 off any Oral B power product (from the Procter and Gamble insert this week, 3/31) so paid 2.99 each and got $2 back each

-Palmer's Cocoa Butter Stick (I am so excited since these are perfect for the car and chapped lips) - 3.79 each but CVS sale was Buy One, get one 1/2 off so 3.79 for one, and 1.89 for the second. I used 2, $2 off 1 Palmer's product coupons (I peeled these off a lotion in Walmart...they are called Peelies and kind of like the grail of coupon world. Yes, you can take these off and use them somewhere else..you just need a watchful eye and don't take like, all of them off every product you know?) So, 1.79 for the first item and .89 for the second :)

-CVS brand Vitamin Pops--on clearance for $2.49, I had received a $3 off any vitamin purchase from the CVS machine, so this gave me overage of .51 towards my order (bonus!)---Yes, this does happen and yes, it is completely legit! The CVS coupon just took $3 off my total for buying a vitamin product, and since the product I bought was not $3, it gave me extra money!

Also, I had a coupon for $5 off any $30 purchase at CVS (remember how cool that machine thing is? Yeah, this printed from that too---and sometimes they will email them or you can usually get them at the CVS website)---No, I did not actually spend $30, but my pre-coupon total was over $30 and that is all that mattered :)

So, my total before coupons (but using sale prices) was: $38.56 but the price I paid was $7.10 with all of those coupons and I used a $4 Extra Bucks reward I had from previous weeks--even without those, ~$10 out of pocket is pretty awesome and I received $7 back for the Almay and Oral B!

Transaction #2:

This is why you need to ring up in different orders sometimes. I used the $7 from the first order to pay for this second order.

-Crest Pro-Health mouthwash (the BIG bottle)- on sale for 4.49 each, used two, $1.50 off one coupons so that made them $2.99 each and when you buy one, you get $2 back in Extra Bucks (or $4 back in my case for buying two)

That left me about a dollar left on my Extra Bucks total from the first transaction, and since they are not like giftcards--the money has to be spent or anything left is lost. I threw in some candy to cover the one dollar, and of course I found a candy on sale and one I could use coupons on:

-Dove singles bars- 1.19 for one, and if you buy a second, it was .25. I used two, .50 off 1 coupons (from a  peelie pad in Dollar General a long time ago!) so I paid .44 for two (they are currently in my freezer!)
-The cashier at first told me that since my pre-tax total was under $7, it would forfeit like 8 cents and I told him that was ok, but it took the whole $7 off anyway (therefore taking some off of my taxes!) so we were left with about 50 cents in tax or so.

Our total would have been $10.42 before coupons and Extra Bucks, and we only paid tax on that total! AND, we got $4 back towards our next purchase in Bucks (I am currently holding these in my big binder for next time--maybe later this week!)

I know I mentioned stockpiling and all I can say when someone asks is "why not?"--If you have the space, and something like mouthwash (which, everyone should be using twice a day, right?) can be bought FOR FREE or super super cheap, why not get it? I checked the dates, and it does not expire until May of NEXT year..so, instead of running out and being forced to pay the then-selling price (not on sale is OVER $6 a bottle!), go ahead and get it now. Stockpiling has such a bad connotation---I consider buying one or two to have on hand a 'stockpile', while I know you're all thinking about the TV show "Hoarders". Don't get that crazy lol. Also, lotion and toothbrushes do NOT go bad...so, if I can pay little to nothing for them, I will. And who doesn't like having cheap or free makeup on hand to try out or give away or keep a spare bag in their car (like I do when I am running behind).

Next up, very successful trip to Food Lion on April 1 :)
